Therapy That Fits Into Your Life, Not the Other Way Around.

Life is busy. Between work deadlines, family responsibilities, and trying to find a moment for yourself, the idea of adding a commute to a therapy appointment can feel like just another stressor.

Or, perhaps leaving the house feels overwhelming right now. Maybe you are navigating postpartum recovery, managing chronic pain, or simply feel safer opening up from your own living room.

You do not need to be in the same room to feel seen, heard, and understood.

At Intentional Living Psychotherapy, I offer secure online therapy to clients across Ontario. Whether you are in Toronto, Ottawa, London, or right here in Kitchener, you can access the same high-quality, trauma-informed care from the space where you feel most at ease.

Why Choose Online Therapy?

Many of my clients prefer online therapy for these reasons:

  • As a Registered Psychotherapist in Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario, Ruba Chihabi provides compassionate therapy for individuals, couples, women undergoing fertility treatment, and new mothers adjusting to parenthood.

    Your Safe Space

Wrap up in your favorite blanket, sip your own tea, or have your pet sit next to you while we talk. Being in your own environment can often make it easier to lower your guard and process difficult emotions.

How Does It Work?

I use a secure, PIPEDA & PHIPA compliant platform to ensure our sessions remain strictly private.

  • Step 1: Book Your Time. Choose a time that works for you through my online portal.

  • Step 2: Get the Link. You will receive a secure email link 30 minutes before our session.

  • Step 3: Click & Connect. No software to download. Just click the link from your laptop, tablet, or phone, and we are ready to begin.

Note: For online therapy, you must be physically located in the province of Ontario during our session time.

Frequently Asked Questions:

  • Absolutely. I use Jane App, which is a specialized medical platform designed to protect your privacy. It is encrypted and compliant with Canadian privacy laws (PHIPA). I conduct my sessions from a private, soundproofed space, and I ask that you do the same to ensure your confidentiality.

  • Yes. If you are "Zoomed out" or feel self-conscious on camera, phone therapy is a wonderful option. Many clients find that removing the visual element helps them focus more internally on their thoughts and feelings.

  • Yes. Online therapy provided by a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) is covered by most major insurance plans in Ontario (e.g., Manulife, SunLife, Canada Life). Please check your specific policy to confirm coverage for "Psychotherapy."

  • Technology happens! If our video freezes or cuts out, I will have your phone number on hand to call you immediately so we can continue our session seamlessly via phone.

Still have questions? I want you to feel confident about this next step. You can find more answers on my full FAQ page, or reach out to me directly if there is something specific on your mind.

Is Online Therapy Effective?

Yes. Research shows that online psychotherapy is just as effective as in-person therapy for treating anxiety, depression, trauma, and stress.

The "magic" of therapy doesn't come from the room we sit in; it comes from the safety of the relationship we build. Through video, we can still pick up on facial expressions, tone of voice, and body language. Many clients actually find they can go deeper online because they feel less "observed" than in a clinical office setting.

Meet Ruba

Choosing a therapist is a deeply personal decision. You need someone who understands not just the clinical side of things, but the human side of trying to balance it all.

I know that staring at a screen all day can be draining, so I work hard to ensure our virtual sessions feel just as warm, safe, and "human" as meeting in person.

As a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying), I founded Intentional Living Psychotherapy to create a space where you don't have to explain your cultural context or apologize for your feelings, no matter where you are logging in from.

Here is what you can expect when we connect online:

  • A Space Where You Don't Have to Perform: Even through a screen, I offer non-judgmental support where you can finally take off the "strong one" mask and just be yourself.

  • Culturally Affirming Care: I specialize in supporting children of immigrants and high achievers. I understand the nuances of family pressure and identity, so you don't have to spend your session teaching me about your culture.

  • Evidence-Based Tools: We won't just talk. I use proven methods like IFS and Trauma-Informed care that translate powerfully to online work, helping you find real relief.

  • Accessible Support Across Ontario: Whether you are in Toronto, Ottawa, Mississauga or right here in Waterloo Region, I bring my full presence to you.

I understand that taking the first step can feel overwhelming, but you do not have to do it alone.
