Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy

I hold your appointment time especially for you. To keep things fair and to make space for other clients who may be waiting, I use the following cancellation policy:

Notice and fees

  • No fee:
    If you cancel 48 hours or more before your session, there is no charge.

  • 50% fee:
    If you cancel within 24 hours of your session, you will be charged 50% of the session fee.

  • 100% fee (no show):
    If you do not attend your appointment and do not contact me to cancel, you will be charged 100% of the session fee.

One free same-day cancellation

Each calendar year, you may use one free same-day cancellation.
This means you can cancel on the day of your appointment without a fee once per year.
Please note that this does not apply to no-shows. If you do not contact me at all, the full fee will still be charged.

Switching to virtual instead of cancelling

If something comes up and getting to the office is difficult, you can often switch your appointment to a virtual session instead of cancelling.

To avoid a cancellation fee, please let me know you would like to switch to virtual by email or phone (voicemail is fine) within the required notice period.

How to cancel or switch

  • You can contact me by email or phone.

  • Voicemail is accepted and counts as notice.

  • The date and time of your message will be used to determine whether a fee applies.

About insurance coverage

Some insurance plans do not cover missed appointments or late cancellation fees. It is the client’s responsibility to check with their insurance provider to see if these fees are reimbursable.

This policy is in place to respect both my time and yours, and to help ensure that appointment times are available for clients who are waiting.
